Academic Awards Banquet Set for Sunday
April 25, 2001 LUBBOCK, Texas - Academic Services within the Department of Athletics at Texas Tech will honor 218 student-athletes, trainers, managers and cheerleaders for their academic achievements at the 2001-2001 Academic Awards banquet. The awards banquet will take place Sunday, April 29, at 6 p.m. at the United Spirit Arena. The criteria for receiving an award is as follows: Highest Merit - 3.75 GPA and above 40 students High Merit - 3.4-3.74 GPA 65 students Merit - 3.0-3.39 GPA 113 students "The 218 students set to receive these awards comprise over half of all the student-athletes at Texas Tech," said John Anderson, Associate Athletic Director for Student Services. "These students represent the best of Texas Tech Athletics and deserve recognition for their efforts of successfully balancing academics and athletics." |
