| Former Tech and Current New York Jets Defensive Back to Compete in 2001 Red Raider Open May 16, 2001 LUBBOCK, Texas - New York Jets defensive back and former Red Raider Marcus Coleman has committed himself to the 2001 Red Raider Open to be held June 2 at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Lubbock. Entries are being accepted for what has grown into the biggest golf tournament in West Texas. The entry fee is $60 per person and $275 per sponsorship. Sponsors receive a two-man team, a hole sponsorship sign and dinner (Friday night, June 1) with Texas Tech coaches Bob Knight and Mike Leach, among others. All entry fees cover range balls, cart, lunch and beverages, promotional items including two tickets to the Texas Tech-New Mexico football game and the chance to win a number of prizes. The field is limited to the first 576 paid entries. There will be shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m on both the Canyon and Creek courses.
