Beal Named Assistant Director of Media Relations
July 7, 2000 LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech has announced today the hiring of Blayne Beal as assistant director of athletic media relations. Beal replaces Greg Greenwell, who accepted a similar position at DePaul University. Beal, a 1999 graduate of Texas Tech, will handle the media relations for volleyball and baseball. He returns to the Tech media relations office after spending the past six months as a graduate assistant in media relations at the University of Tennessee in men's athletics. While at Tennessee, Beal was the media contact for the Volunteer baseball team, while assisting with men's basketball and football. Beal had worked in the Tech media relations office for two and a half years as a student assistant before heading to Tennessee. During that time, he served as the media contact for the softball team and assisted with all of Tech's other sports and office duties. He also served as a media relations assistant for the FedEx Orange Bowl during the 1998 college football bowl season. |
