LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Athletic Media Relations Department today named Heath Borer to join the office staff as an intern for the 1999-2000 academic year. Borer will be responsible for handling media contact and requests for the sports of men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field, and cross-country.Borer, 23, is a native of Denver, Colo., and graduated from Colorado State University in December of 1998 with a bachelors of arts degree. While at Colorado State, Borer majored in journalism, worked as a sports reporter for the student newspaper, The Rocky Mountain Collegian, and also served as a volunteer student assistant in the CSU media relations office. After graduating he worked as an intern with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in the media relations department. Before accepting the position at Texas Tech he was serving as the interim Director of Media Relations for the Division II conference.
