Tech Members Of Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll Announced
Big 12 names all-time high 2,455 to the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring 2001 semester.
Aug. 3, 2001 DALLAS-An all-time high of 2,455 student-athletes has been named to the Big 12 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring 2001 semester the league announced Thursday. Acknowledging all student-athletes, the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll is an inclusive honor for varsity sports sponsored by the membership of the league. The Honor Roll is recorded and released each semester and recognized those student-athletes who registered a 3.0 or better grade point average the previous semester. The spring semester's total is an all-time high for the exceeding the previous high of 2,308 set fall, 2000. The 2,455 total also marks the fifth straight semester the Commissioner's Honor Roll has exceeded 2,000. Among the 2,455 are more than 300 student-athletes who were submitted having earned a 4.0 or higher GPA this past spring. Those standouts are marked with an asterisk (*) next to their name on the list. Submitted through the Directors of Student-Athlete Support Services at each institution, those honored are not necessarily the stars on the field and court but those who participate on a varsity sponsored sport.
