CARLSBAD, Calif., - Texas Tech fans have until 4 p.m. (CDT) Friday to bid on an exclusive "fan experience" for the Red Raiders Nov. 1st game vs. Colorado as part of the school's ongoing auction, at www.texastech.com/ebay. Note that the ending times listed on the auctions are Pacific Daylight Time.
Items, currently available for bid through mid-day on Friday include:
- The "Fan of the Game" at the November 1, 2003 home contest vs. Colorado will receive two (2) Press Passes (seating in the new West Side stadium building on press level); a press parking pass and a Red Raider media guide.
- A 2002 Red Raider football poster signed by star quarterback, Kliff Kingsbury.
- An authentic ticket from the inaugural women's game at United Spirit Arena.
Proceeds from this auction will go directly to the Red Raider Club Student Athlete Scholarship Fund. The auction is part of a nationwide program with eBay Sports and OCSN, which partners with Texas Tech and 144 university athletic departments and conferences to manage and maintain Official Athletic Sites.
During the season, college football fans that show team spirit by buying licensed merchandise and memorabilia can make their dollars go the distance. From September through December, eBay Sports will track the amount of money collectively spent per team and release weekly top 25 standings. When the eBay auctions program ends in January 2004, eBay will give the school that generates the most in sales a $25,000 donation to be used toward a scholarship-scoring a major victory for education.
