Andrea Tirey is Senior Director of Development for Texas Tech Athletics, where she is responsible for the major gift fundraising operations for facilities, scholarship endowment, the leadership academy and planned giving.
Tirey began her career in Austin working for the Texas State Legislature and the late State Representative Buddy West where she served as legislative aide and district liaison and worked closely with the House Committee on Energy Resources, and the Oilfield Cleanup Fund.
She joined Texas Tech in 2007 as a development officer for the Texas Tech University System focusing on academic development. Building on her development experience, Andrea soon joined the Texas Tech Athletics department as the Senior Director of Development focusing on major gifts.
Currently, Andrea serves on the Board of Trustees of The Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts, and is a member of both the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. She is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Texas, the longest running and most successful women's leadership development program in the United States.
Andrea received her undergraduate degree in Political Science in 2003 and her Master's in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2010 from Texas Tech University.
Andrea and her husband, Christopher, have two children: Caroline and Margaret.
