Texas Tech Finishes 5th at Pioneer Electronics Bruin ClassicMENIFEE, Calif.- The Texas Tech women's golf team opened the spring season with a 5th place finish at the Pioneer Electronics Bruin Classic hosted by UCLA. Texas Tech finished with a team score of 976 over the 54-hole tournament at Menifee Lakes Country Club, tied with Brigham Young University. Led by the top two indivdual finishers in Lisa Penske (230) and Niina Laitinen (231), Tulsa shot a 934 to win the team title, outdistancing the host Bruins, who finished third at 952. Individually, Brooke Lowrance was Texas Tech's low golfer, finishing in a tie for 11th with a 238 total (77-83-78).
