The Rawls Course | website

Alumnus Jerry S. Rawls made it possible for Texas Tech Golf to have its own territory by donating $8.6 million toward the total cost of approximately $14-15 million in 2001 and the course was then named for him.

Completed in September 2003, the 270-acre parcel, located at the northernmost point of the campus proper, features an 18-hole championship-level course with a 60-acre driving range as well as pitching and chipping areas. The 7,100-yard golf course has very undulating fairways, beautiful bent grass greens and many deep bunkers. Dedicated facilities for both golf teams existing, including collegiate-exclusive pitching and chipping areas and an indoor facility with three hitting bays, one each for the men and the women, both featuring the best video technology possible.

Location

The Rawls Course is located on the northwest corner of Texas Tech University, along the Texas Tech Parkway, North of 4th Street and South of N. Loop 289. For GPS purposes, use the address: 3720 4th St., Lubbock, TX 79415.

Directions

From Lubbock International Airport - Take I-27 south to to the North Loop 289 exit. Take North Loop 289 west to the Quaker exit. Turn south on Quaker (left turn under the overpass) and continue south in the left lane. The road will fork. Stay to the left on the Texas Tech Parkway. The Rawls Course entrance will be on your left.
From US Highway 84 - Follow US 84 to I-27 and head north (right turn). Take Marsha Sharp Freeway (US 82) exit and head West (left turn). Take the 4th St. exit and continue west to the Texas Tech Parkway. Head North (right turn) and the Rawls Course will be on your right.
From US Highway 82 - US Highway 82 turns into the Marsha Sharp Freeway (US 82) at I-27. Take Marsha Sharp Freeway (US 82) exit and head West (left turn). Take the 4th St. exit and continue west to the Texas Tech Parkway. Head North (right turn) and the Rawls Course will be on your right.
From US Highway 87 / I-27 - US Highway 87 turns I-27 just south of Lubbock. Head North on I-27 to the 4th St. exit. Head west (left turn) and merge onto the Marsha Sharp Freeway. Take the 4th St. exit and continue west to the Texas Tech Parkway. Head North (right turn) and the Rawls Course will be on your right.
