Alex Yack is starting his eighth year at Texas Tech, and serves as Assistant Athletic Director for Major Gifts. The Jacksonville, Florida native is holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, and a Masters of Sport Administration from the University of Northern Colorado.
Alex’s primary responsibility is soliciting philanthropic support for the Campaign for Fearless Champions which impacts every student-athlete and sport for Texas Tech Athletics.
During his time with the Red Raider Club, he has helped set record-breaking fundraising years for the department, personally securing over 30 major gift commitments since 2018. Concurrently, Texas Tech Athletics has constructed over $87 million dollars in new Athletic facilities including indoor training facilities for football, men’s & women’s basketball, a competition indoor track & field complex, and a new student athlete dining hall.
Alex started in the Red Raider Club in 2013 as an Assistant Director for Annual Giving, focused on annual giving, premium seating and membership benefits. He was subsequently promoted to oversee these efforts in 2014. The Red Raider Club saw membership numbers grow 37% from 2013-2014.
Yack came to Texas Tech Athletics after serving in multiple development and marketing roles at the United States Air Force Academy Athletic department from 2010-2013. He was instrumental in growing annual giving by 35% to the Falcon Pride Club.
Alex resides in Lubbock with his wife, Jennifer (Teichelman) Yack, and their two daughters, Maisie and Maren.
