Baseball Falls to Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- University of Kansas catcher Josh Dommick hit his 6th home run of the year to help the Jayhawks defeat Texas Tech 4-1, in Lawrence, Kansas. Kansas got a strong outing from their starting pitcher, Brian Schriner (3-3), who gave up only on run in six inning of work.
Texas Tech pitcher, Monty Ward (4-4), struck out 14 while giving up four runs in eight inning. But the Red Raiders were only able to score one run on seven hits against the Kansas pitchers. Josh Bailey closed out the game for the Jayhawks to record his first save of the year.
The loss dropped the Red Raiders to 9-7 in conference play (28-13 overall). Kansas got back to .500 with the win and are now 17-17 overall (4-10 in the conference).
