Brad Ralston Leads Texas Tech to Baseball Win Against Missouri

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech finished off its three game series with a 13-0 victory Sunday against Missouri at Simmons Field. The victory improves Texas Tech to 16-5 overall and 5-1 in the Big 12 while Missouri drops to 8-7 overall and 1-5 in the Big 12.
Texas Tech senior pitcher Brad Ralston pitched brilliantly and held the Tigers to four hits and no runs in a career-high nine innings pitched. He struck out a near-career-high 10 batters in his 34 batters faced and held Missouri to .133 hitting. Ralston pitched his second complete game and second shutout of his young career as a starter.
Texas Tech jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Marco Cunningham reached base on an error, Ryan Ruiz followed with a single and Josh Bard and Jon Weber followed with RBI singles respectively.
Tech put the game away with a seven-run seventh inning. The Red Raiders used RBI singles from David O'Keeffe and Lance Woodcock and two-RBI singles from Jason Huth and Scott Holzhauer and an RBI from Ryan Ruiz to go up 9-0.
Ruiz led Texas Tech with a 3-6, two runs scored, RBI performance. Josh Bard went 3-6 with a run and two RBI, Lance Woodcock extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a 2-5, two runs scored, RBI performance and Jason Huth went 2-4 with two RBI and two runs.
The Red Raiders shut out Missouri for the first time in four years. The last time Missouri had been shut out was on April 14, 1995 in an 8-0 loss to Oklahoma.
