Opening Remarks: "To say we are happy is an understatement. We have waited for this for a long time. N.C. State did a great job. They have so many ways to hurt you and they are soexplosive. I thouught that these two (Braziel & Dickerson) made some great plays.
"I want to thank our crowd and all of the people who have supported us this year and forever in this building. To have this game on tv tonight and to have this kind of atmosphere speaks well for Lubbock, Texas."
On Second Half: "The first 10 minutes of the second half really made a difference, it was probably the turning point for us. We were a little more aggressive and North Carolina St. was a little cold, they missing some shots they were making in the first half.
On Notre Dame game: "Its been a long year. To win 30 games and go to two Sweet 16's maybe will give them (seniors) something great to remember."
On Melinda Schmucker's Three-pointers: "They were huge. We knew we were going to have to find some offense away from Hanebutt and Braziel."
On Keitha Dickerson: "Dickerson has developed into more of a scorer."
On Lubbock Municipal Coliseum: "I've coached 17 years in this facility and there has been some great moments. Its been really special for me to just be a part of it."
Texas Tech Forward Keitha Dickerson
On Game: "Myself, Melinda (Schmucker), and Julie (Lake) know we have to step up. You can't get all of us."
Texas Tech Center Angle Braziel
On Keitha Dickerson: "I think Keitha came out really ready to play tonight. She has really been a big part of the team and she has done a really good job.
On Summer Erb: "She got kind of winded. We tried to take advantage of that. Our guard's did a good job of finding us on the break. She has been a big part of their team and has done a great job.
On Tournament: "Hopefully we continue to win and play hard like we did tonight. I don't think there's anything to stop us as long as we come out and play hard."
On Texas Tech Career: "Coming here, I knew I could really get things done. I'm glad I made the decision to come here."
North Carolina State Head Coach Kay Yow
Opening Comments: "This was a very disappointing loss for us to say the least. I would like to congratulate Texas Tech, I wish them the best. The first part of the second half we were down. That's the stretch that put us in the hole for the rest of the night. After I called the first timeout, we regrouped. They played hard the rest of the game and I'm proud of them for that. Texas Tech is a good team and I think they have a chance to do well."
On Summer Erb and Kenyatta Williams: "You're looking at two people that gave their heart and soul on the court tonight."
On the second half: We took a couple of bad shots and the defense didn't communicate. We had to work twice as hard to get back into the game."
On the timeout that was not granted: "We wanted to get the last timeout but we weren't able to communicate it. It was an important timeout but we take full responsibility for it."
On Keitha Dickerson's play: "She had one of her best games and we definitely needed that not to happen."
North Carolina State Center Summer Erb
On being winded: "I was having a little bit of a hard time keeping up with them but the timeouts helped. They came in the second half and I think they were ready to put us away. We came out quiet. We wanted to do our best for everyone."
North Carolina State Guard Kenyatta Williams
On the crowd: "This was a hard crowd to play for because the only people for us was us, our cheerleaders and our band."
