MANHATTEN, Kansas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team's losing streak reached eight matches after a 6-3 defeat at the hands of Kansas State University on Saturday.
The Wildcats took five of the six singles matches to claim the team win before the doubles competition began. The Red Raiders now stand at 4-14 overall (2-7 in Big 12).
Junior Amanda Earhart defeated Katerina Chuda 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 3 singles for Tech's only singles win. The Red Raiders fared better in doubles competition, winning two of three matches. Zana Zlebnik and Alenka Ovin knocked off Chuda and Martina Pospisilova at No. 1 doubles 8-5. At No. 2 doubles, Earhart teamed with Misty Meyer to defeat Alena Jeliaskova and Anna Pampoulova 8-5.
The Red Raiders will be in action again Friday, April 16 at Oklahoma State University. The match is slated to start at 1:00 pm.
