Texas Tech Tidbits...
Senior post Angie Braziel scored a career-high 34 points in 31 minutes of play Wednesday against TCU. With two blocks against the Horned Frogs, Braziel is tied for ninth on Tech's all-time career list for blocks with 67. She is tied with Sheryl Swoopes.
Sophomore guard Katrisa O'Neal also collected a career-high 12 points against TCU. Freshman guard Amber Tarr scored her first collegiate point against TCU.
Texas Tech has now won 36 straight games over TCU. It was also the second consecutive game that the Lady Raiders shot over 50% from the field.
Senior guard Julie Lake sustained a crack in her left radius at her left elbow during the second half of the TCU game, and will be out for four weeks. The injury snaps a streak of 55 games in which she has started for the Lady Raiders. The last (and only time in her career) that Lake did not start was on Jan. 11, 1997, against Colorado in Boulder.
The Lady Raider senior class holds an 80-20 record.
The Lady Raiders have won six consecutive games and have won 19 of its last 21 games, dating back to Feb. 4, 1998.
Techs game against Hawaii marks its fourth Western Athletic Conference opponent this season. Earlier this season, the Lady Raiders defeated, SMU, Rice, and TCU.
Head coach Marsha Sharp needs 17 victories to eclipse the 400-career win mark. During her previous 16 years as head coach at Tech, Sharp has averaged 23.5 wins per season.
