Lady Raiders Ranked Sixth in Poll

Lubbock, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team is ranked sixth in the Women's Basketball News Service 1998-99 Preseason top-25 poll, which was recently released.

The top five teams above the Lady Raiders are (in order): Tennessee, Louisiana Tech, Connecticut, Purdue, and UCLA. Tech is the top-rated Big 12 team. Other Big 12 teams represented in the top-25 are Iowa State (#16) and Kansas (#24). Nebraska and Oklahoma State received honorable mention.
