Lady Raiders Clash with the Tigers on Saturday
The 13th-ranked Lady Raiders look to extend their winning streak
to two games with a Saturday night game against Missouri. Texas Tech is

Lady Raider Head Coach Marsha Sharp
One of the most respected and well-known coaches in Texas Tech history, head coach Marsha Sharp is 396-128 (.756) in her 17th year at the helm of the Lady Raiders. The 1998 Big 12 Coach of the Year, she has led the Lady Raiders to eight NCAA Tournament appearances, seven consecutive and five NCAA Sweet 16 appearances in six years, including the NCAA National Championship in 1993. While in the SWC, Coach Sharp and the Lady Raiders never finished below third, they won or shared the last five championships, and they captured three Post Season Classic titles.
Sharp captured her 350th career victory during the 1997 NCAA Tournament when on March 16 Tech defeated Montana, 47-45, in Palo Alto, Calif.
A 1974 graduate of Wayland Baptist University, Sharp was named National Coach of the Year in 1993 and 1994. She also reaped SWC Coach of the Year honors seven times, five consecutively. Sharp needs four victories to eclipse the 400 career-win mark.

Wrap-Up of the TTU-Texas A&M Game
Angie Braziel scored 25 points and Rene Hanebutt added 20 as the Texas Tech Lady Raiders pounded Texas A&M 74-52 Wednesday night at Lubbock Municipal Coliseum.
The Lady Raiders led by only four points at halftime, before a scoring barrage ignited by Hanebutt and Melinda Schmucker.
Hanebutt threw in five three-pointers and added a layup to scored 17 points in the first seven minutes of the second half. Schmucker helped out with three assists and a three-point basket of her own as Texas Tech stretched its lead to 19 points.
Braziel became the first Lady Raider in seven games to reach double figures in rebounding and posted a double-double with 25 points and 10 boards.
However, Texas Tech was outrebounded, 34-28, in the game, making it the fifth straight game Tech has been on the short end of the rebounding numbers.
Schmucker was the only other Lady Raider in double-figures for the game with 11 points and came up two assists shy of a double-double at eight.
About Missouri
First-year head coach Cindy Stein and the Tigers have struggled in recent games, losing five of their last six games - three of those games on the road.
The Tigers are led by junior guard Julie Helm who averages a team-high 18.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest. She also hits nearly 83 percent of her free throws. Junior forward Kesha Bonds tops the Tigers in rebounds with 9.0 per game.
As a team, Missouri shoots 44.3 percent from the floor, 31.8 percent from three-point range. The Tigers hold a slight rebounding edge over their opponents (+1.9), but average 21.1 turnovers per game. Missouri scores 67.8 points per contest while allowing 66.3 opponent points.
The Series Record...
Texas Tech leads the young series history with the Tigers, 3-0. The last time these two team met was on Jan. 4, 1998 in Columbia, Mo. Fifth-ranked Texas Tech defeated Missouri, 79-65. Alicia Thompson scored 39 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Lady Raiders to victory.
Winning at home in conference play
The Lady Raiders have won 20 straight conference games in the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum. The last loss Tech suffered at home was to Oklahoma State on Jan. 8, 1997. Prior to that loss, Tech had won 26 straight conference match-ups in "The Bubble."

Texas Tech remains a strong showing in theis week's national statistics. Senior post Angie Braziel is 27th in scoring and 19th in blocked shots while senior guard Rene Hanebutt ranks tied for 12th in three-point field goals made per game. Sophomore guard Katrisa O'Neal is tied for 13th in steals.
As a team, Texas Tech is eighth in won-loss percentage.

After opening the 1998-99 season with a preseason ranking of #12, the Lady Raiders have steadily climbed up in the polls since November. In the weeks following, Texas Tech spend time at #14, #15, #12, #10, #8, #7, and as high as #6 before dropping to its current position of #13 in this week's Associated Press poll. In this week's USA Today/ESPN poll, Texas Tech is ranked #10.
A Look Ahead ...
Texas Tech winds up its longest homestand of the season with a midweek clash with Oklahoma State on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. After the Oklahoma State game, Tech goes on its final regular-season road trips with a contest at Nebraska on Feb. 21 and at Colorado on Feb. 24.

Senior guard Rene Hanebutt needs 17 more three-point field goals to become Techs all-time three-point field goal shooter. She comes into Saturdays game with 240 career three-point field goals. Senior post Angie Braziel collected her seventh double-double of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds against the Aggies on Wednesday. It was the first time in six games that a Lady Raiders collected double-figure rebound numbers.
The last time two Lady Raiders scored at least 20 points or more in a single game took place on Jan. 6 as Tech defeated Oklahoma, 93-69, in Lubbock. Rene Hanebutt scored a career-high 30 points while Angie Braziel collected 25 points.
In earning its 20th win of the season Wednesday night, it marks the ninth straight season in which Texas Tech has won 20 or more games. The most recent season in which the Lady Raiders recorded less than 20 wins was the 1988-89 season when Tech went 16-13.
As a team, Texas Tech has been outrebounded six consecutive games, posting a 4-2 record during that time.
