Longhorns Sweep Red Raiders in Women's Tennis

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech womens tennis team came up on the short end of a 9-0 score to the sixth-ranked University of Texas on Saturday at the Lubbock Country Club. Texas won all six singles matches and all three doubles contests.
The loss drops Texas Tech to 1-1 overall (0-1 in Big 12), Texas moves 2-0 overall (2-0 in Big 12). Texas defeated Iowa St. by an identical 9-0 in its season opener.
Unlike their season opening match versus Abilene Christian University, the Red Raiders did not have a single three set match against the Longhorns. Against ACU they had five.
The Red Raiders will be in action again on Sunday, January 31 against Southern Methodist University. The match will be indoors at the Athletic Training Center. Admission is free.
