Men's Golf Finishes 10th at Copy Systems Championship

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas - The Texas Tech men's golf team placed 10th at the Copy Systems/Toshiba Copiers Collegiate Championship at the par 72 Chenal Country Club. The Red Raiders shot a final round 308 to finish with a total of 607 for the tournament. Host school Arkansas-Little Rock won the event, shooting a total score of 583.
The tournament was scheduled for 54 holes with 36 to be played Monday and the final 18 holes today. However, rains washed away the final 18 holes yesterday.
Senior Alex Armstrong led Tech and finished in a tie for 17th place after firing back-to-back rounds of 74. Senior Philip Tate placed second amongst the Red Raiders and tied for 32nd overall with a two-day score of 152. Corey Henegar shot 155, good for a tie at 47th place. Also for Tech, Blake Smith tied for 54th position with a 156 and Matt Loving came in tied for 64th at 158.
Jody Moses of Northeast Louisiana University defeated Arkansas-Little Rock's Jaime Seim on the fifth playoff hole to claim the individual title. They finished regulation play tied at four-under-par 140.
The Red Raiders next action will be at the Big 12 Championships in Hutchinson, Kansas on April 26-27. The host school will be the University of Kansas.
