Red Raiders sit fourth entering final round at Mountaineer Invite

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — No. 8 Texas Tech wrapped up the opening day of the Mountaineer Invitational on Monday in fourth place after 36 holes at Pete Dye Golf Club.
Monday's schedule featured 36 holes, but play was suspended due to darkness before the second round was completed by all competitors. Two groups — Saint Francis and several individuals — will finish their second rounds beginning at 7:15 a.m. ET Tuesday, with the final round set to begin at 8 a.m. ET.
The Red Raiders posted rounds of 288-283 to finish the day at 5-under 571, placing them fourth in the 19-team field.
Texas Tech placed five of its six players in action inside the top 20, including a pair inside the top 10. Connor Graham and individual competitor Simon Hovdal are both tied for seventh at 3-under 141 through 36 holes.
Tim Wiedemeyer and Ben Gregg are tied for 15th at 1-under 143, while Brady McHenry sits tied for 19th at even-par 144. Adam Bresnu rounds out the lineup tied for 31st at 3-over 147.
Clemson leads the tournament at 8-under 568, followed by host West Virginia at 7-under. No. 5 Arkansas sits third at 6-under, just one shot ahead of the Red Raiders.
The Mountaineer Invitational concludes Tuesday with the completion of the second round, followed by the final 18 holes.
