Red Raider Fall Drills Begin Next Week

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech will kickoff its fall drills for the 1998 football season Monday afternoon when newcomers are scheduled to arrive on campus.
Fourteen of the 17 signees and two walk-ons are expected to report to Gates Hall Monday afternoon to check into the dorms for fall drills. After issuing shorts, t-shirts, shoes, etc.. and taking pictures in the Masked Rider lobby, the players will have dinner at the Athletic Dining Hall before taking physicals at the stadium. The first day will end with a cardiovascular testing session on the Jones Stadium turf and a team meeting.
Newcomers will practice twice on Tuesday and Wednesday prior to a manditory academic orientation and varsity reporting on Thursday. the first day of full squad practice will be Saturday. The first day of pads is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19.
