Texas Tech to Play Kansas State in Wichita

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech baseball team will travel to Wichita, Kansas to play Kansas State on Saturday and Sunday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. The Red Raiders will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. then close out the three-game series with a 1 p.m. Sunday start.
All three games will be broadcast on KKAM 1340 with Mark Finkner and Ryan Hyatt making the call.
Kansas State is unable to play in Manhattan due to renovations on their baseball stadium. Their stadium is expected to be ready for the 2000 baseball season. The Wildcats have played games at several junior college ballparks around Kansas.
Lawerence-Dumont Stadium is the home of the Kansas City Royals' AA affiliate, the Wichita Wranglers. Two former Texas Tech players- 1997 All America Jason Gooding and Ryan Brewer- pitch for the Wranglers.
Texas Tech enters the weekend with a 15-5 Big 12 Conference and 35-10 overall record. The Red Raiders are currently in third place in the Big 12 behind Texas A&M (16-4) and Baylor (16-5). Texas A&M hosts Kansas while Baylor hosts Oklahoma this weekend.
Kansas State enters the weekend at 5-13 in the Big 12 and 18-21 overall. The Wildcats are currently on a five-game winning streak entering tonight's game against UT-Pan American.
Texas Tech will likely throw Shane Wright, Kevin Tracey and Brad Ralston.
