Washington Dismissed from Team

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech women?s basketball coach Marsha Sharp has announced today the dismissal of junior Kristi Washington from the Lady Raider basketball team.

Washington, a 5-10 guard from Garland, Texas, violated team rules which were set and signed by the team in the fall prior to the season and has been permanently dismissed from the team.

?I regret that this has taken place,? said Sharp. ?But I felt it was a necessary step.?

Washington had appeared in six games this season and missed five games after having her right knee scoped in early December. She was averaging 1.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.
