LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head soccer coach Felix Oskam announced today the hiring of Amy Dyksterhuis as the second assistant coach for the Red Raider soccer program. Dyksterhuis will begin her duties at Texas Tech on April 1.
Dyksterhuis comes to Texas Tech after serving as the club coach for the West Des Moines Select club teams in Des Moines, Iowa. While in Des Moines, she coached the under-11 and under-17 girls teams and the under-12 boys team, while also serving as the coach and administer for the 2010 development program.
Dyksterhuis played one year of collegiate soccer at the University of Tulsa before transferring to the University of Kansas, where she was a three-year letterwinner and two-year captain. She received her bachelor of science degree in education in 1999 from Kansas.
Dyksterhuis was awarded the National Coaching Diploma in 1998 and the Advanced National Coaching Diploma in 1999 by the National Soccer Coaches Association.
"I am very excited about Amy joining my staff," said Oskam. "She is a very young, energetic person and she is a perfect fit for what we try to do here with our program."
