LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech softball team continues its season this weekend as they host a pair of Big 12 home games against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The games are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Texas Tech Recreational Intramural Fields.
The Red Raiders enter the weekend with a record of 12-25 overall and 1-1 in the Big 12 Conference. Last weekend the team split a pair of games with the No. 18 Oklahoma State Cowgirls. Nebraska comes into the weekend unranked but is receiving votes in the March 29 NFCA Coaches Poll.
"Nebraska is certainly one of the top programs in the conference and the country," Red Raider interim head coach Carla Marchetti said. "We know they'll be ready to play. We're just looking to continue improving our game. I think we've made some definite strides as a team in the past few weeks."
The Red Raiders are 2-7 all-time against the Cornhuskers and Nebraska enters the weekend with a four game winning streak against Tech.
