Canady, Terry, Williams and Davis named Softball America All-Americans
LUBBOCK, Texas – Softball America announced its selections for All-America on Tuesday. The list featured four Red Raiders including NiJaree Canady and Kaitlyn Terry who were named to the first team and Mia Williams and Mihyia Davis who were named to the second team.
This is the first time in program history that Texas Tech has had multiple All-Americans in the same season across any publication. Canady has now been named a First Team All-American her last three seasons and this is the second time that Williams and Davis have garnered the honors. Terry is a first-time All-American but is no stranger to national attention.
Canady is 23-5 in the circle this season with a 1.42 ERA and 215 strikeouts through 152.1 innings of work and was a top 10 finalist for USA Softball Player of the Year along with Terry who has a 1.39 ERA and a .470 batting average. Terry also has 152 strikeouts and has hit 10 home runs with 55 RBI.
Williams has been a force at the plate, hitting .435 with 22 home runs, 77 RBI, 83 runs and 167 total bases all of which are new program single-season records. Davis is hitting .440 with 88 hits, 14 doubles, nine homers and a program record 37 stolen bases on top of that.
UP NEXT: Red Raiders are headed to their second NCAA Super Regional as they face No. 6 Florida starting at 10 a.m. CT on Friday.
