A QUICK LOOK AT TEXAS TECH
The Texas Tech Red Raiders host the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners in the final two home games at Dan Law Field. The Red Raiders, currently ranked No. 30 by Collegiate Baseball, have won eight of their last 10 games and 16 of the last 19 at home. Since losing a season-high five straight from 3/11-14, the Red Raiders have won 17 of 24 games. During that span, Tech has lost back-to-back games just one time.
Last weekend, Tech won two of three games against Oklahoma in Lubbock.
The Red Raiders lost the series opener on Friday night 7-4, but came back to win the final two games, 8-7 and 15-14. Both of the wins came in extra innings as Tech won in 12 innings on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. In Sunday's game, Texas Tech erased a 12-2 deficit and won on David O'Keeffe's single that scored David Garza in the bottom of the 12th.
The Red Raiders posted a 13-4 record in April after going 9-8 in February and 8-8 in March. The Tech pitching staff has been the key, lowering their ERA each month. In February, the staff's ERA was 7.01 (116 ER/149.0 IP) followed by a 5.99 (91 ER/136.2 IP) mark in March. In April's 17 games, the ERA was 4.94 (84 ER/153.0 IP). In addition to the lowered ERA, Tech pitchers walked 38 batters in April (2.2 per 9.0 IP).
Texas Tech's nine seniors will be honored prior to the game Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, the baseball team will be recognized for its success in the classroom. The Red Raiders will be on the road for their final three regular season games at Oklahoma State, May 12-14. The 2000 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Tournament will be May 17-21 in Oklahoma City.

Through 50 games, the Red Raiders have outscored opponents 433-331 ... Tech is averaging 8.7 runs and 10.8 hits per game ... they have reached the double-figure mark in runs 20 times this season, but just five times in the last 21 games ... as a team, Texas Tech is hitting .308 with 115 doubles, 20 triples, 48 home runs and 381 RBI ... Texas Tech has hit five grand slams and 10 Red Raiders have at least two home runs ... in the Oklahoma series: hit .325 (39-120) in the three games ... was outhit 51-39 and outscored 28-27, but won two of three games ... left 34 men on base ... walked 20 times compared to nine for Oklahoma ... successful in five of six stolen base attempts ... Jason Rainey homered in two of three games and has homered in four of the last five games.

- Mark Austry has moved into a tie for eighth place on the career games played list at 161 ... he is tied with Bobby Kohler (1979-82).
- Brennan Burns needs just one double to move into a tie for 17th place with 29.
- Marco Cunningham has moved into seventh on the stolen base list with 53 in his career ... he needs three more to tie Keith Ginter (1997-98) ... Cunningham is tied for 12th in doubles with 34 and is 12th with 124 runs.
- Miles Durham is tied for 16th all-time in stolen bases with 35.
- Chaz Eiguren's career batting average of .363 (106-292) puts him in 11th place all-time and his .610 (178 TB/292 AB) slugging percentage is ranked 15th.
- Jason Rainey's eight triples tie the single-season mark held by three others ... Jon Weber (1999), Stubby Clapp (1996) and Ronnie Mattson (1975) are the others ... he is also ranked third on the single-season chart with 54 strikeouts.
- Brandon Roberson is fifth all-time with a 2.34 ERA and second all-time with 10 saves.
- Kevin Tracey moved into eighth place with his 11th complete game ... is also sixth with five career saves ...
