Funeral Arrangements Finalized for Downey

LUBBOCK, Texas - Funeral services for former Texas Tech wide receiver and track and field athlete Rodney Downey will take place Fri., Jan. 26, at 1:30 p.m. at the Carter Metropolitan Church (4601 Wichita Street off Interstate-20) in Fort Worth.

A memorial also has been scheduled for Tech students and friends of Downey on Thu., Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. at the Allen Theatre in the University Center on the Texas Tech campus.

Students and friends of Downey are also invited to be part of a videotaped memorial for Downey's family. Those wishing to express their condolences or share stories can do so Mon., Jan. 29, between 6-7:30 p.m. at the Matador Room in the University Center.
