LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team received another preseason ranking for the 2001-02 season by being ranked 12th by Basketball News in its preseason top 25 poll. Tech has been ranked in the following polls so far this year: fourth by Women's Basketball Magazine, fifth by Lindy's, fifth by Women's Basketball News Service, seventh by SLAM Magazine and ninth by Athlon's.
Six of Tech's opponents this season are ranked in the top 25 in this poll, including three Big 12 teams: Vanderbilt (first), Iowa State (second), Duke (third), Oklahoma (fourth), Baylor (14th), and Wisconsin (17th).
