Basketball America Ranks Lady Raiders Preseason Fourth

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team has been ranked fourth by Basketball America in its preseason top 25 poll. It marks the ninth preseason ranking so far this year for the Lady Raiders. Tech was also ranked third by Street & Smith's, fourth by Women's Basketball Magazine, fifth by Lindy's, fifth by Women's Basketball News Service, seventh by SLAM Magazine, ninth by Athlon's, 10th by The Women's Basketball Journal and 12th by Basketball News.
Seven of Tech's 2001-02 opponents are ranked in the poll, including Big 12 foes Oklahoma, Iowa State, Baylor, Colorado and Texas.
The Lady Raiders will tip-off the season on Nov. 11 against Duke in the State Farm Tip-Off Classic in Durham, N.C. at noon CST on ESPN.
