Curtis Receives Football News Recognition

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech free safety Kevin Curtis (Lubbock, Texas) has been selected as one of 15 semifinalists for the Football News Defensive Player of the Year award, the publication announced today.
Curtis is currently third on the team with 68 tackles and is second with three interceptions. He also has four tackles for loss and two sacks. Curtis is in third place all-time at Texas Tech with 391 career tackles and needs four to move into second place. His 10 career interceptions ranks sixth all-time.
Joining Curtis on the semifinalist list are Alex Brown (Florida), Wendell Bryant (Wisconsin), Rocky Calmus (Oklahoma), Keyuo Craver (Nebraska), Levar Fisher (N.C. State), Larry Foote (Michigan), Dwight Freeney (Syracuse), E.J. Henderson (Maryland), Quentin Jammer (Texas), Julius Peppers (North Carolina), Edward Reed (Miami), Derek Ross (Ohio State), Robert Thomas (UCLA) and Roy Williams (Oklahoma).
