LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Department of Athletics announced today prices for season tickets for the 2001 Red Raider football season. Season tickets are scheduled to go on sale in May.
Season tickets for the five-game home schedule are $173 with the lowest season ticket costing $68, a 31 percent decrease from last season. Also, family packs will be available for $30 per season ticket and includes all home games, with the exception of Texas A&M. Only two adult tickets will be sold in conjunction with the family pack with no limit on the number of children's tickets purchased in this area. Approximately 2,500 new permanent seats will be added in the north endzone that will become the Family Section this coming season.
Over 15,000 seats are available to purchase on a season ticket basis for under $90. This is nearly half of the stadium seats that are available to the general public to purchase.
The Red Raiders are coming off of a 7-6 season and its eighth-consecutive bowl eligible campaign. Texas Tech opens the 2001 season at home against New Mexico, before embarking on a three-game road swing at UTEP, North Texas (Irving) and Texas. Tech also faces Nebraska, Baylor and Oklahoma State on the road next season. Other home games include Kansas, Kansas State, Texas A&M and defending national champion Oklahoma.
