LUBBOCK, Texas - Junior Nick Blankenship went 4 for 5 with six RBI and fell just short of the cycle to lead the Red Raiders past the West Texas A&M Buffaloes 19-5 on Tuesday night at Dan Law Field.
Texas Tech (26-14) scored four runs in the first innings to put the game out of reach and then used five pitchers out of the bullpen to put the game out of reach. Chad Ertel (3-2) picked up his third win of the season after pitching 5.0 innings giving up two earned runs and striking out four batters. Raymond Bergara suffered the loss for West Texas A&M and fell to 4-1 on the season.
Texas Tech will face TCU on Wednesday afternoon at Dan Law Field with the first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.
