Tech Soccer Finishes Spring Season

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech soccer team finished its spring schedule with a 1-1 tie against Rio FC club team of Albuquerque on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Raiders trailed 1-0 until newcomer Lauren Martinez tied the contest in the second half. Both teams were missing four starters in what was an evenly played match.
The soccer squad also had its soccer banquet this past weekend. The Saturday night event took place at the Sheraton Four Points.
Junior forward Melanie Brosnahan was presented with team MVP after leading the club with seven goals last fall, as well as dishing out two assists.
The Coaches Award was given to senior Ana Ontiveroz, who exemplifies the ultimate team player, working hard everyday to make both herself and teammates better.
