Kingsbury Makes Texas Football Cover

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech quarterback Kliff Kingsbury dons the cover of the 2001 issue of Texas Football. The magazine hits newsstands today.
Joining Kingsbury on the cover are TCU quarterback Casey Printers, Texas' Chris Simms and Texas A&M's Mark Farris. Kingsbury is the first Red Raider to hit the cover since Rodney Allison in 1977.
Kingsbury enters the 2001 campaign as one of the top passers in the nation. The junior from New Braunfels set 14 records last season, including 11 passing records, two total offense marks and most points responsible for in a season.
Kingsbury finished the 2000 season as the top passer in the Big 12 Conference with a school-record 3,418 yards. He ranked eighth in the nation in total offense with 286.4 yards per game and led the league with 21 touchdown passes and 3,437 total yards.
Kingsbury and the Red Raiders open the season on Sept. 8 at Jones SBC Stadium against New Mexico.
