LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech football coaching staff welcomed 26 players Friday as newcomers reported for the start of training camp. Among the group were 20 scholarship players, including five junior college transfers, and six invited walk-ons.
The 26 newcomers will participate in orientation sessions on Saturday and Sunday, before hitting the field for their first practices at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Mon., Aug. 13. The remaining 80 players reporting as part of the initial 105 will arrive on Tue., Aug. 14.
