Bonjour - Greetings from Paris!!
So far this trip has been an eye-opening experience. To be able to see the different way people live in their own culture is awesome. I've been to the Louvre and I saw the Mona Lisa, and I saw Napolean's apartment. He was so rich!! It was a holiday in France yesterday and the shops were closed so I did not get to do any shopping.
This morning, I woke up to Jia banging on my hotel door, telling me to wake up for breakfast. After that, Jia, Casey, Tanisha, Plenette and I went to the Nike store. Jia, Casey and I tried on the first Jordan's he came out with. We wanted to get them but we needed to save our Francs so we took a picture in them instead. Plenette, Casey and Jia decided to get playing cards. They are very entertaining to play with since we can't understand the French speaking television stations here. The playing cards have become our main source of entertainment during road trips to games, or just down time.
Today we played our first game in Arras, France. This city is very nice and much cleaner than Paris. The team we played tried their best, but it just wasn't good enough as we won by a lot. Afterwards, they had a reception for us, in which they served drinks and finger sandwiches. We enjoyed the refreshing taste of their orange juice and coke.
After the game, some of the team played M.A.S.H. and talked about the game, and then eventually we went to sleep until we go back to our hotel in Paris.
That was the whole day. I just wanted to say hi to all my friends in Lubbock, Lady Raider fans, and anyone who happens to come across this journal entry. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
