LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech wide receiver Nehemiah Glover relayed the sentiments of the Red Raider football team following Wednesday afternoon's practice on the grass practice fields southeast of Jones SBC Stadium.
"We're anxious to get back on the field," the freshman receiver said of the team. "Some teams have played three games and we have just one under our belts. We're focused and feel good. I can't wait to get out there Saturday night."
Head Coach Mike Leach and the Texas Tech staff worked the Red Raiders out for two hours, continuing implementation of the game plan for North Texas. The Red Raiders and the Mean Green square off Sat., Sept. 22, at 7:05 p.m. (CT) at Texas Stadium in Irving.
In addition to its focus on UNT, Tech also worked on ball control, individual, team and special team drills. The offense and defense worked against the scout team to close practice.
Saturday's game is the eighth in the series against North Texas, and also the second between the two schools at Texas Stadium. The Red Raiders knocked off the Mean Green 30-0 during the 1998 season in Irving.
