Texas Tech Soccer Looks to Build on Win

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team will play the final two games of a three-game road trip this weekend. This trip equals the longest stint away from the friendly confines of R.P. Fuller Stadium this season.
This weekend Tech travels to Edmond, Okla., for a pair of matches at the Oklahoma Shootout. Friday night the Red Raiders will play the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts and Sunday afternoon will take on the Golden Hurricane of Tulsa.
ORU (1-3) is coming off a 2-0 win at home against Western Kentucky. The Golden Eagles are led in scoring by Megan Utz who has two goals on the season and scored the game-winning goal in ORU's lone win. Minding the net for Oral Roberts is Christy Chapman. Chapman has started all four games this season, recording 24 saves while allowing 11 goals.
The Golden Hurricane (2-2-1) are coming off a 1-0 win over Arkansas at home. Tulsa is paced by the play of Melissa McCormick. McCormick has scored two goals and recorded an assist while playing in five games. Between the pipes is Abby Fahrig who has allowed seven goals while stopping 38 shots and is credited with two shut-outs.
Tech (2-3) is coming off a much-needed 4-1 victory against the Lobos of New Mexico on Tue. Sept. 18, in Albuquerque, N.M. In the win senior Carrie Graham scored a pair of goals, her team-leading third and fourth goals on the season.
Forward Melanie Brosnahan started the scoring for the Red Raiders as she recorded her second goal of the season in the 36th minute of action. Sophomore Kerri Campbell scored what proved to be the game-winning goal later in the first half, giving Tech a 2-0 lead after the first stanza.
