Jones SBC Stadium Security Intensified

LUBBOCK, Texas - Security at Jones SBC Stadium will be intensified in response to the terrorist attacks Sept. 11 in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.
Texas Tech has always maintained solid safety measures, but additional policies have been implemented to ensure the safety of those attending Texas Tech athletic events for the remainder of the season, beginning with the Oct. 6 home football game against Kansas. Please note:
1) Only ticketed and credentialed individuals are permitted to enter Jones SBC Stadium on game day.
2) No video cameras, long lens still cameras, electronic equipment cases, backpacks, knapsacks, large bags, banners, fireworks, umbrellas, strollers, tripods, camera cases, binocular cases, alcoholic beverages, coolers, cans, bottles, wineskins, or foodstuffs may be carried into the stadium, small American flags may be brought into the stadium only if they are NOT on a pole or small stick handle.
3) All containers, including handbags, are subject to visual inspection, patrons who refuse to allow visual inspection of contents will be denied entry to the stadium.
4) Unauthorized vehicles parked in front of at the stadium will be towed immediately.
5) Policy for stadium passouts remains the same, but patrons may not carry items into the stands upon re-entry.
6) Smoking is prohibited within the stadium. Those patrons wishing to smoke must exit the stadium through one of the main gates and receive a hand stamp for re-entry.
7) Fans should arrive early and expect long lines and delays at stadium gates, which will open 1? hours prior to kickoff. Police officers are scheduled to patrol the area around the stadium the day and night prior to the games, with an increased number of security officers scheduled to man each gate.
While these policies are more strict than those used during past home games, they are in place for the welfare of all Texas Tech football fans.
