LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team will be without the services of Jordan Wicker for a month due to an injury suffered in Friday night's 2-1 overtime loss to TCU.
With just three seconds left in regulation during the home opener Wicker suffered a dislocated shoulder. The freshman from Trinity high school, in Euless Texas, was listed as day-to-day but further evaluation shows that she will need to wear a sling for a month.
The Red Raiders were already playing short handed this season. Last spring Lindsey Scott and Marie Valdez went down with leg injuries, although Valdez should be back later this month no return date has been set for Scott. Tech is also without Lubbock Coronado standout Tracy Loyd as she tore her ACL during two-a-days.
Tech will host the Four Points Sheraton Shoot-Out this weekend. Friday Denver and UTEP will square off, with Tech facing UTEP on Saturday and Denver on Sunday. All matches kickoff at 1 p.m. at R.P. Fuller Stadium on the Texas Tech campus.
