Texas Tech To Honor 2000 NCAA Tournament Team

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball team will honor the 2000 NCAA Tournament team prior to the start of the match vs. UTEP on Friday night at the United Spirit Arena.

Texas Tech will unveil a permanent banner that will hang in the south rafters of the United Spirit Arena in a pre-game ceremony. Texas Tech head coach Jeff Nelson will recognize the members of the 2000 team just prior to the unveiling.

The 2000 Texas Tech Red Raiders finished the season with a 24-9 overall record and advanced to the first-round of the NCAA Tournament in Honolulu, Hawai'i.

Texas Tech will be in action four times this weekend as they host the annual Four Points Sheraton/Red Raider Classic. Tech's first match is at 1 p.m. on Friday against Stephen F. Austin.
