Basketball News Ranks Lady Raiders Preseason Third

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team is preseason ranked third by Basketball News. It marks the highest preseason ranking so far for the Lady Raiders. Tech was ranked fourth by Women's Basketball News Service last week.
The Lady Raiders are one of four Big 12 teams ranked in the top 25 poll. Following Tech is Kansas State at eighth, Texas at 11th and Iowa State 19th. Tech's first two opponents of the 2002-03 season, Louisiana Tech and Washington, are ranked 21st and 22nd, respectively.
The Lady Raiders will tip-off the 2002-03 season in the State Farm Tip-Off Classic against Louisiana Tech Nov. 10 at 11:30 a.m. CT on ESPN2.
