LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Texas Tech softball team got a two-out hit in both the first and fifth innings as it dropped its eighth consecutive game Saturday morning to the 18th ranked Oregon State Beavers, 8-0, in the third game of the UNLV Softball Classic in Las Vegas, Nev.
Tech's (3-10) first hit was a two out double by junior-transfer Kristi Robles in the first and its only other hit was by senior Eva Harshman who belted a two out triple in the sixth. The Red Raiders would only have two other base-runners the entire game. The first was a walk by Jana Baker to lead off the second followed by designated player Lisa Lawler who reached first on a fielder's choice later that inning.
OSU (11-1) had a 2-0 lead going into the fourth when they batted eight and scored four runs on five singles. The Beavers would tack on two in the sixth to compete the 8-0 win.
Kristina Blair went three innings giving up six hits and three earned runs in a losing effort, dropping her record to 1-3 on the year.
