
Men's Tennis Defeats Idaho 4-0

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Texas Tech men's tennis team captured its first win in Seattle, Wash., with a 4-0 triumph over Idaho.
The Red Raiders started the day by winning the doubles point as they swept the doubles competition. The duo of senior Richard Crabtree and sophomore Ben Gudzelak defeated Eddie Brisbois and Brock Berry at the No. 1 doubles spot, 8-2. In No. 2 doubles, junior John Walker and sophomore Devin Wakeford beat Brad Lum-Tucker and Hector Mucharraz, 8-3. Junior Alfie Perez and freshman Michael Innerebner were victorious over Stephen DeSilva and James Cromwell, 8-4, at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Perez defeated Fredrik vonSydow, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles, while Innerebner beat Mucharraz, 6-1, 6-0, at the No. 5 spot. At the No. 6 position, Walker won over Chris Faulman, 6-3, 6-4. Singles play at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 positions did not finish as Tech won the match after the first three matches (No. 4-6) were finished.
The Red Raiders, 3-2 overall, will face Washington on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. CST and Sacramento State on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. CST.
