Greenwalt Named Big 12 Rookie of the Week

DALLAS, Texas - Texas Tech's Cisti Greenwalt earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week, while Baylor's Danielle Crockrom was named Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week by a vote of a media panel for games played from Feb. 18-24.
Greenwalt, a 6-5 freshman center, averaged 9.5 points and 6.0 rebounds to help Texas Tech to two wins last week. Against Texas A&M, she scored 11 points and added seven rebounds, three blocks and a steal. She was 3-for-5 from the field for 60 percent and perfect from the free throw line at 5-for-5. Against Nebraska, Greenwalt chipped in eight points, going 3-for-4 from the field for 75 percent. She was also 2-for-2 from the free throw line, while adding five rebounds and three blocks. Greenwalt's six blocks this week moved her into eighth on Tech's all-time single-season list for blocks with 50. The Clovis, N.M., native is currently Tech's top shot blocker (50) and top rebounder with a 6.4 average.
Crockrom, a 6-2 senior forward, averaged 19.0 points and 9.5 rebounds a game in Baylor's two wins last week. The Lady Bears posted an 80-69 win over No. 11 Colorado on Wednesday and a 62-61 road victory over Oklahoma State on Sunday. With OSU up by one, Crockrom caught a half-court pass at center court with 4.5 seconds left on the clock, dribbled to the free throw line and hit a jumper at the buzzer to defeat Oklahoma State and give the Lady Bears their 23rd victory of the season and first-ever in Stillwater. Against Colorado, the Houston, Texas, native tallied her 13th double-double of the season with a 29-point, 12-rebound performance. She was 11-of-20 from the floor, 7-of-9 from the free throw line and also added four steals. In addition to making the last minute shot against the Cowgirls, she ended the game with nine points and seven rebounds. In her last five games, Crockrom has averaged 22.4 points and 10.7 rebounds a game. In addition, she holds the Big 12 record for most career double-doubles with 40.
