LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach added the 25th newcomer to the 2002 class with Mesquite (Texas) High School defensive standout Chris Hudler.

Hudler earned All-District honors last season as a defensive end after logging 118 tackles and nine sacks and helped lead MHS to the Class 5A State Championship. He was named to the Insiders.com Texas Super Team for his efforts. Hudler received All-District honors as a tight end as a junior and is an All-District track standout. Houston also recruited Hudler for the 2002 season.

Texas Tech announced 24 newcomers on national signing day Wed., Feb. 6.
