Tech Struggles To Find Grove Against ASU

TEMPE, Ariz. - Kristi Robles scored the lone Red Raider run against #8 Arizona State on an infield single by Eva Harshman as Tech dropped its fourth consecutive game in the Fiesta Bowl Classic, 6-1.
ASU (3-0) scored three runs in the first, three in the sixth and got a strong pitching performance Saturday night as it won its third game of the tournament.
Tech (3-6) continued to find hits hard to come by as the Sun Devils gave up just three hits and a walk while striking out six.
The lone Red Raider run came in the fourth as shortstop Robles singled to start the inning. Andrea Joachims bunted her to second and Harshman's infield hit was fielded by the ASU third basemen, who threw the ball away at first allowing Robles to score.
Tech will conclude play in the tournament Sunday morning when it plays the 16th ranked Fresno State Bulldogs at Rose Mofford Sports Complex in Phoenix, Ariz. at 8 a.m.
