TEXAS TECH
Head Coach MARSHA SHARP
"I am really proud of our team. I thought they came out and met the challenge. I thought it was a pretty physical basketball game and they had to hang on to make some plays. I was really pleased with both ends of the floor.
"It's a first game and you're always glad to get that one behind you. We are really looking forward to Sunday. I thought Mississippi state played really well today. We will have to do a good job against them on Sunday."
TTU PLAYER JOLEE AYERS
"I think that it's very important going into every game to outbound your opponent. During March Madness, anything can happen. It can come down to one or two boards. This is very important and we have put a lot of stress on this for the Big 12 because that is a big part of our conference."
TTU PLAYER TANISHA ELLISON
"I like to come out with a lot of energy and set the tone of the game. The main focus was the fact that we really were ready to play. I had a lot of confidence in my team and I know we gave it our all."
TTU PLAYER JIA PERKINS
"I am really happy with the outcome of tonight's game. It really paid off."
STEPHEN F. AUSTIN
HEAD COACH LEE ANN RILEY
"We know we need to upgrade to play the caliber of competition like Texas Tech. Texas Tech is a team that starts pretty well. They have the fans behind them, they're really comfortable playing in this building. We were a little tight getting started, I called a time out, we settled down and got back into the ball game. We got killed on the boards."
SFA PLAYER JESSICA GUILD
"I'm really proud of the way we ended the season. We fought really hard."
SFA PLAYER NICOLE GUILD
"It was a great ride. I was going to ride it until it ended. We never gave up out there. I've had a great season."
