LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team received its first preseason ranking of the year. The Lady Raiders are ranked ninth by SLAM Magazine.

The Lady Raiders are one of three Big 12 teams ranked in the top 10. Along with Tech, Kansas State is ranked third and Texas is fourth.

Tech will tip-off the 2002-03 season on Nov. 10 against Louisiana Tech in the State Farm Tip-Off Classic in Knoxville, Tenn. At 11:30 a.m. CST on ESPN2.

The new issue of SLAM Magazine hits the stores Sept. 17.
